Please come join us for what is truly an Open House. Arrive any time between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and choose how to spend your time and with whom you would like to meet. Our students, parents, teachers, administrators and alumni will be here to answer your questions and share their Country Day experience. Please feel free to bring extended family and friends who might also be interested in exploring an independent school education. We look forward to meeting you!
OPEN HOUSE HIGHLIGHTS
- Head of School Dr. Gary Krahn will share his vision and philosophy on education at noon and 1:00 p.m.
- Meet our dedicated faculty and understand why students love coming to school.
- Get a campus tour guided by a current student and see our outstanding facilities.
- Explore the many athletics and arts program offerings.
- Engage with current students and parents who will share their passion and excitement for LJCDS from their personal perspective.
- Observe a Torrey Mock Trial demonstration scrimmage until noon. Mock trial is a competition where students play the roles of attorneys, witnesses, bailiff and clerk to prepare evidence, develop arguments, and think on their feet in the heat of a spirited competition.
- Watch our Middle School students during their Play-in-a-Day challenge where they will audition, block, rehearse, memorize, costume, light, tech and produce their own works with help from our Upper School Thespian Honors Society.
- Observe athletic team practices.
