Gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds make an ideal charitable gift for both the donor and LJCDS. The charitable deduction is based on the fair market value on the day the gift is made. Please notify the office of philanthropy of your transfer.
LJCDS welcomes contributions from your donor advised fund (DAF) or family foundation. Below are details you will need to complete your funding request.

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
If you are 70 ½ years or older, you may make a gift to LJCDS directly from your IRA without paying income tax on the transfer, which counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) of $100,000. These gifts can be easily arranged with your IRA plan administrator to make an immediate positive impact.
A charitable bequest is a meaningful and the simplest way to leave a legacy at La Jolla Country Day School through your will or trust. Your bequest can be represented by a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. We recommend that you designate your gift to be unrestricted, or discuss with our team an alternative priority that will support the School.
You may designate LJCDS as a beneficiary of a portion or all of your retirement assets, including your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan. Consult with your retirement plan custodian and complete a Beneficiary Designation Form naming LJCDS as a beneficiary. Your retirement assets will not be taxed at your time of death and your estate will benefit from a charitable deduction.
Gift in-kind contributions provide auction items for the silent and live auction. Gifts may include use of a vacation home, unique experiences, shadowing opportunities and items of interest that can be used in the silent or live auctions during the annual fundraising gala Blue Bash.
La Jolla Country Day School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax ID# 95-1875978. Donations to the school are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
