Tommy Edman '13 and YD Red Sox Capture Cape Cod League Championship

Former Country Day baseball great, Tommy Edman's '13, Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox won the Cape Cod Baseball League championship last night.  Tommy, who was an Academic All-American while leading Stanford in numerous batting categories this past spring, scored in the 5th and 8th innings and recorded a 9th inning RBI. The Red Sox finished the regular season in 3rd place in the League's Eastern Division with a 22-22 record and got hot at the right time, clawing their way all the way to the championship series, including a 13 inning win in the divisional round.  This was Yarmouth-Dennis's 2nd championship in a row and 5th over the past 11 years.  The Cape Cod League is considered the most competitive amateur league in the nation.
