We are happy to have Assistant Director of Admissions at Syracuse University, Janet Shusta-Recchia, for this virtual presentation to hear about college choices for visual and performing arts, how different types of schools distribute arts curriculum, double majoring and minoring, best practices for submitting creative work (portfolios/auditions) in the application process, and writing artist statements.

Our presenter is Tim Garretson of Pinnacle Private Advisors. As a frequent presenter at LJCDS, Tim has helped many families prepare for the cost of a college education. He will give you an outlook on what families can do now to plan for their student's college costs including need-based aid, merit-based scholarships, and funding strategies for out-of-pocket expenses.The focus of this session will be senior families, but other interested families are welcome to join to get an early look at what might be coming in the years to come.
Navigating the Critical Changes in Admissions Testing Presentation

With the financial aid season upon us, parents in the Class of 2024 are ready to dive deeply into all areas of the FAFSA form, which is required for students applying for need-based financial aid. Our presenter Kellie Nehring, Director of Financial Aid for the University of San Diego, will cover the nuts & bolts of the revised Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), due to roll out in December, and will also share other helpful information and insights regarding paying for college. Topics include the CSS Profile, merit scholarships, activity scholarships, institutional aid, etc.
