Arts

The arts programs at La Jolla Country Day School support our mission of developing scholars, artists, and athletes of character. While students pursue academic excellence, they also develop their artistic voice, starting with a strong foundation in the Lower School, expanding in the Middle School, and continuing through advanced Upper School electives and performances.

PERFORMING

From concert choir, dance technique, playwriting, and directing to technical theater, students showcase their work in events on and off campus.

STUDENT WORK

Personal expression is encouraged. The arts provide students with a safe space to explore, push boundaries, and learn from their mistakes.

Values

All Torreys are artists. Beginning at age 3, LJCDS students are empowered to discover and develop their unique creative voice through meaningful practice and joyful collaboration.

Lead with creativity. Students own their artistic journey, inspiring and guiding others as leaders and mentors across grade levels.

Think boldly, grow fearlessly
. LJCDS nurtures curiosity, risk-taking, and imagination, teaching students to view challenges as opportunities and failure as fuel for creative growth.
